ANIMATED DISNEY MOVIES ~ I’m obsessed with Disney movies. This is fittingly my first list.
- Pocahontas ~ Pocahontas is the best. For one, I love Disney princesses. And yes, she’s a princess. She’s usually not included in the list but she’s an Indian princess, which is way more legit than say, Mulan, who only won a medal. Anyways, Pocahontas is my favorite Disney princess. She actually has some meat on her bones and doesn’t need a big ball gown and crown to look beautiful. Definitely the best soundtrack of any Disney movie except for the new song that Disney felt they needed to add in the movie, “If I Never Knew You”. Not a bad song, but it doesn’t flow with the rest of the tracks.
- Beauty and the Beast ~ There’s not really an explanation needed. Great music, characters, etc. Gotta love that old-school Disney animation. The only thing is, they could make the Beast a little cuter when he finally turns human.
- Sleeping Beauty ~ The three fairies, Flora, Fauna, and Merriwether, make this movie. The best is the scene when they are making Princess Aurora a birthday cake and dress. Plus I want to dance to “Once Upon A Dream” at my wedding reception… first dance perhaps?
- Alice In Wonderland ~ SUCH an incredible movie. I’m sorry to say but Disney took Lewis Carroll’s version and made it sooo much better. “Very Good Advice” is a song I often sing in my head because I relate so much to it I guess.
- Ratatouille ~ Sure, it screams ”Mouse Hunt”, but it’s still golden. ”Le Festin” by Camille is a great song. I listened to it on repeat after adding the Disney Pixar Box Office Hits album to my itunes last month.
- Lady and the Tramp ~ So stinking cute. Dogs+Disney+Love=Wonderful. Just sayin. Nemo’s good or whatever but Disney definitely hit their stride with cute animals in this movie. Plus, “Bella Notte” is a pretty great song.
- Peter Pan ~ The story in general is good. Just look at the Mary Martin version and Hook. Actually, I feel like I really need to read the book… But this movie is super legit. It was my favorite when I was little. I was Tinkerbell for Halloween one year. And I’m just gonna say that this new, nice Tinkerbell is garbage. She was not a sweet little fairy that helped her animal friends. She wanted Peter Pan and she hated everyone. Parents today think they need to make everything “nice”… whatever.
- The Fox and the Hound ~ Almost as sad as Bambi. The best story of friendship ever. Period.
- The Little Mermaid ~ What little girl doesn’t believe in things like mermaids at some point? And kudos to Ariel for being a favorite Disney princess to lots of girls, because she is a ginger. Maybe it’s the wonderful songs she sings, her purple seashell bra, or how tiny she is… any way you look at it she’s still a ginger though.
- The Sword in the Stone ~ Probably the most underrated Disney movie out there. Every kid wants to know what it would be like to be a fish. Plus, Merlin is hilarious.
